Level 2 NOC Engineer/Technician - Salary from £21,000 to £26,000p.a plus benefits based on experience, hours and skill-set.
Coreix Ltd, a company specializing in providing high availability hosting services and solutions for small, medium and large enterprise businesses is looking for a personable and experienced Systems Administrator with either NOC or Web Hosting support experience to administrate operating systems, network and database software.
Responsibilities:
• Installing, monitoring and supporting operating systems, area networks and accompanying hardware and software.
• Maintaining access to the systems and providing guidance for both users and development personnel.
• Maintaining /upgrading servers and related hardware.
• Carrying out updates and corrections to software to maintain agreed levels of service.
• Identifying problems, rebooting hardware, agreeing remedial action and undertaking emergency network maintenance.
• Installing equipment (servers, network hardware)
• Analysing the performance of systems and networks, undertaking routine server management tasks and making recommendations to enhance reliability, usability and security.
• Developing and maintaining site administration documentation, configuration records and answering inbound technical support queries
• Processing trouble tickets raised on our internal system, taking ownership of tickets and resolving to clients satisfaction
• Installing cabling work for server installations and backup network
• Ensuring that engineering is notified of issues after procedures are carried out.
To succeed in this role you must have a relevant Degree qualification together with prior experience with cPanel/Plesk and Redhat/Fedora/CentOS or FreeBSD. Expertise in the following operating systems required Linux or FreeBSD and knowledge of TCP/ IP Networking, Windows 2003 server, apache, mysql, sendmail, qmail, SQL, FTP, SSH1/2, IIS, IMail, terminal services, VNC, PCAnywhere, cPanel, Plesk and other web related applications and/or utilities would be highly beneficial. General networking knowledge is required and further knowledge of industry standard IP protocols would be advantageous. You must be a team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills in order to deal with customers on a daily basis.
